What if I am sued

Getting sued can be a frightening thing. If you have some reason to believe that you may be sued you should contact an attorney. Don’t wait until you actually get served with a lawsuit. Call an attorney who hopefully practices in the area of law that your matter involves. If you may have insurance coverage for the matter you should make sure that the insurance company is notified. If you receive any sort of document that lets you know that somebody may be making a claim against you immediately send a copy to your insurance company.

Lawyers roles in lawsuits are varied. One thing that you should know is that lawsuits are complicated and you should always involve a lawyer. If you think that the lawsuit is simple it would still make sense to at least consult with an attorney.
